The Piatigorsky Archives at The Colburn School is the home of the personal collection of the 20th century cellist, Gregor Piatigorsky. The collection includes correspondence, photographs, scores, original manuscripts, concert programs, clippings, recordings, books, and ephemera. Mother had two brothers, Matway and Gregory. The collection includes music manuscripts in Piatigorsky’s own hand, scores, audio recordings (commercial recordings, broadcast interviews, and test pressings), photographs, books, clippings, ephemera, programs, and documents including Piatigorsky’s letters home while on tour, drafts of his autobiography, and letters from the greatest.
In 1976, his autobiography, Cellist was published in the year of his death and is now a highly prized collector's item, which carries exorbitant.
